About the event:
My talk:
In pursuit of a just, inclusive society, those with disability are often overlooked and, in many instances, actively excluded. Despite comprising one of the largest minority groups in the US, those with disabilities are treated like second class citizens and their basic needs for accommodations are seen as extra or special. In his talk, Dr. Andrew Colombo-Dougovito will shine a light on the myriad instances of permissible prejudices faced by disabled persons and the impacts of ableism on the broader society.
